A review of the impact of urbanization on the process of political development in Iran

Abstract
Cities as social centers need policy-making and planning for development. The effective implementation of these development programs requires upstream documents such as land use planning, economic, political, social and cultural development programs. In Iran Which leads to better policy-making in macro-development programs, efficient urban management and public participation. Political development can have one of the most important effects on urbanization. In this article, the impact of urbanization on the process of political development of cities in Iran from 1392 to 1399 is reviewed. This research is a review in terms of type of survey and is a library method. Data collection tool has been collected based on field studies and reference documents in this field. The findings of this study indicate that inferential indicators such as urbanization and its process is one of the underlying components of political development. Also, inferential factors such as the components of political participation, political awareness, freedom of expression and thought and democracy, institutionalization and weakening of tribal, ethnic and gender foundations have each had a direct and indirect impact on political development. Factors such as social mobilization and the formation of public and virtual spaces have had an indirect impact on political development. Extraction indicators from the fifth and sixth five-year plans of the country also indicate important factors such as diversity of urban strategies, political awareness of citizens, democracy and urban diplomacy, good urban governance, urban security, strengthening religious sites and its impact on political development. has it.
