One of the most important and debatable issues in today's world is the concept of sustainable urban development and the method of planning and managing urban development is one of the most important issues in its realization. This article deals with the need for change in urban management with a sustainable development approach. First, in this regard, with the introduction of the principle of sustainable development, urban management and related issues, views on sustainable urban development and urban improvement The rules and regulations that exist for the administration of municipalities need to evolve and synchronize with the new management technology, and this structure should facilitate the participation of the necessary elements. This article begins with the question of how and how should urban development be done to meet the future needs of the country? The research method in this research is descriptive-analytical and the collection of research information with logical reasoning through library studies has reviewed the literature in the field of components of sustainable urban development, which has been obtained through resource studies and comprehensive review. In the end, the research shows that the position of urban management and municipality in the process of sustainable development of the city is very important and decisive. The centralized urban management system should be based on the approach of sustainable urban development. In creating the desired goal, it is the role of managers and municipalities that have the duty to definitely contribute to the development and dynamism of the city by creating social, environmental and economic considerations.
