Abstract
Aesthetics in Martin Heidegger's thought creates a fundamental break from traditional perceptions based on subjectivism and individual taste and opens a new horizon in understanding the work of art by linking art and beauty to the issue of existence. The aim of this research is to explain the main components of aesthetics from Heidegger's perspective and to examine the position of art as a way of developing the truth of existence. The research method is qualitative and based on an analytical-interpretive approach that was carried out using the study of Heidegger's main texts, especially Being and Time, the origin of the work of art and other related works, as well as reliable interpretive sources. The data were collected through conceptual recording and analyzed with a hermeneutic approach. The findings of the research show that Heidegger interprets beauty not as a formal characteristic or something dependent on subjective perception, but as the result of the “emergence of truth” in a work of art. In this framework, art is a place of conflict and tension between the “world” and the “earth,” and the work of art, by opening up a meaningful world, enables human habitation in existence. From Heidegger’s perspective, beauty is the result of this ontological openness and not the ultimate goal or criterion of art. The research also shows that Heidegger’s aesthetics, by criticizing classical metaphysics and modern anthropocentrism, leads to an existential understanding of the experience of beauty. The conclusion of the research indicates that Heidegger's aesthetics offers a fundamental model for rethinking the concept of art and beauty that can be inspiring in areas such as architecture, housing, and contemporary arts. This approach defines beauty in a deep connection with truth, place, and the way of being of humans in the world, and in this way, opens a new horizon for interdisciplinary research in philosophy and art.
